The CDC is a private non-profit corporation. As a project-focused organization, it has a unique ability to obtain funding from a wide variety of public and private sources.
The CDC, acting with advice from its members and a member-based Board of Directors, works in partnership with the Quaboag Valley Business Assistance Corporation, and Quaboag Valley Chamber of Commerce and other regional organizations to provide a wide range of programs and services to enhance the economic climate of our region.
Objectives of the CDC include:
◊ Loans to area businesses that are micro entrepreneurs or intend to create jobs.
◊ Re-development of blighted commercial areas which private investors have traditionally avoided;
◊ Job creation for unemployed or underemployed persons through specialized training programs;
◊ Coordination of public & private resources on regional economic development projects.
FUNDING FOR THE BUSINESS ASSISTANCE CORPORATION'S LOAN PROGRAM:
The Quaboag Valley Business Assistance Corporation's revolving loan fund has been capitalized by grants from the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development through the Town of Palmer, by grant form the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and by a line of credit from the following area banks, Bank of America, Country Bank for Savings, FamilyFirst Bank, Monson Savings Bank, North Brookfield Savings Bank, Spencer Savings Bank, and Southbridge Savings.
