What We Teach

Our training programs are designed to meet the current needs of small businesses and their employees. Persons seeking to learn or update skills can benefit as well.  No one is turned away, although some classes have basic prerequisites.  See the Training Catalog for descriptions of all classes and prerequisites. NEW!  Training at Your Business.

We are pleased to announce a new opportunity for small businesses, non-profits and municipalities in the west-central Mass area.  We will bring the training to you!  This is small group training for 2-3-4 person offices that may need to:

♦ Upgrade skills to a newer version of Microsoft Office™
♦ Learn or improve use of QuickBooks™
♦ Teach new staff to use Microsoft Excel™ (or another program) for specific functions
♦ and more...see our most recent Training Catalog for a list of all of our courses

Training at QVCDC sites:
Classes are scheduled throughout the year at the CDC in Ware or the Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce in Palmer.  Courses at the Hitchcock Academy in Brimfield or other sites throughout the region will be scheduled on demand.  For a list of currently scheduled classes, please check our Training Calendar.

Small Business Development - Short Courses:  Small Business Development course listing 

 One to four session "short courses" are provided both by schedule and on an ad-hoc basis if there is sufficient demand.  Classes are in a variety of topics including Developing a Marketing Plan, Managing Cash Flow and So, You Want to be an Entrepreneur?  Check the Training Calendar for currently scheduled classes or call the CDC to be placed on a waiting list.   Check our list of affiliate organizations for other offerings of trainings in west and central Massachusetts as well. 

Complete Business Plan Course:  Business Planning course description

We have two options for Business Planning Training that leads to a complete business plan. For pre-development or start up businesses (less than 5 years), we recommend our course for start-ups, a 10 week program offered throughout the region at various days and times. Periodically we offer a longer 12 week program for existing Entrepreneurs.  Often these programs are scheduled only after a sufficient number of students expresses interest.  For more information, please call the office (413-967-3001) or show your interest by signing up on our waiting list.    (Insert waiting list link)
