Through the QVBAC, business loans from $500 to $100,000+ are available to existing and predevelopment businesses that operate within the region and that cannot access equivalent financing through conventional resources.

Loans can be for a variety of purposes, including new equipment, startup, refinancing and expansion. The QVBAC offers loans in the following categories:

• Microenterprise business

• Small Business Loans that project job creation in the near future

• Loans to non-profit organizations that project job creation

• Small Businesses in need of financing not otherwise available

A minimum of two hours of technical assistance is available for all potential loan applicants.

Our Computer Training Program has evolved into a multi-course offering that benefits three distinct groups:

• Small Businesses and their employees
• Persons wanting to develop or enhance
  job skills

• Beginners and persons wanting to get
  more use out of their home computer

Small Business Development Courses

In addition to one-on-one technical assistance; business planning courses, computer training, and seminars, several Marketing & Financial workshops are featured on topics such as: Developing a Marketing Plan, Creating Your Own Marketing Materials and Managing Cash Flow. These seminars are open to existing small businesses and soon-to-be entrepreneurs.

Business Planning Training has several options. For pre-development or startup businesses (less than 5 years), we recommend our course for Startups, a 10 week program offered throughout the region at various days and times. Once a year we offer a longer 12 week program for existing Entrepreneurs. We also offer Business Planning Modules which are 3 week mini-courses on Marketing, Organization, Finance and Explorer.
