JOB SEEKERS' SERVICES


ONE ON ONE ASSISTANCE: Persons looking to switch jobs or re-enter the Workforce are eligible to meet with CDC staff on a 1-1 basis to map out a personalized job hunting plan, résumé critique or to establish a training plan.

Modular Mini-Courses: The Passport to Success Program is an 8 week training that the CDC runs periodically throughout the year and throughout the region. Individual topics are also offered as modular mini-courses.

Résumé Writing:
2 Hours, $25.00
An opportunity to go through the résumé writing process Learn what information you will need to gather, types of resumes, formats and pulling the package together are covered.    Register Now!

Job Hunting:
2 Hours, $25.00
Looking at different ways to look for local employment. Participants will review Job fairs, newspapers, word of mouth, creating your own opportunities and the Internet. Register Now!

Cover Letter Writing:
2 Hours, $25.00
This workshop includes basic information on writing a business letter and how to determine what the Employer is looking for.    Register Now!

Interviewing Techniques:
2 Hours, $25.00
This workshop goes over the basic of preparing for and going to a job interview. You will learn practical tips and suggestions to help you feel confident and to set you apart form the rest.    Register Now!

COMPUTER SKILLS TRAINING:

The CDC has a comprehensive Computer Skills training Program. Job hunters looking to enhance their office skills may choose from a variety of Microsoft Office Applications. Word, Excel, and Access are offered at the beginner and intermediate levels. The CDC also offers classes in Windows, Job Hunting on the Internet and QuickBooks.

SKILLS ASSESSMENTS:

The CDC offers a variety of skill assessment software to our candidates so they can determine if they are prepared for a job with specific requirement. We offer skill assessment in:

  • Typing
  • Business math
  • Grammar/spelling
  • Data entry
  • Word processing (MS Word)
  • Spreadsheet creation (MS Excel)

We also offer a series of online career inventories to aid you in your job search.
